My 10 Minute, $10 Bathroom Tweak — Apartment Therapy Original Makeover

You might have already seen my recent bathroom makeover, which I did in the span of a frenzied weekend and shared earlier this week. After all was said and done, I was very happy with how it all turned out. Then, I made one last-minute addition, which was about ten minutes worth of work, and cost less than $10. It made a small, but significant difference nonetheless. And here’s the good news. You can do it too, even if you’re a renter. (далее…)

Before & After: A Mini Yet Mighty Rental Kitchen Makeover

Samantha’s little apartment is only about 500 square feet and it’s a rental. She wanted to make some minor changes, without putting a bunch of money into the makeover. I Remodeled My Bathroom in A Weekend — Apartment Therapy Original Makeover

About a month ago, I decided I was really sick of my bathroom. This came in the context of larger BIG LIFE UPHEAVAL, which I won’t get into now, but it boiled down to craving a tangible change in my living space. I quickly focused on my downstairs bathroom, which was admittedly not horrible, but was feeling extremely drab and depressing lately. In short, it wasn’t making me happy. This 118-Square-Foot Paris Apartment Is Part Home, Part Transformer Toy

I won’t pretend to know the difference between an Autobot and a Decepticon (I just learned those two terms on Wikipedia), but I do think this small Paris apartment has a lot in common with Transformers —namely the ability to disguise super powers until they’re ready to be used. I’ll assume that the toy versions use their secrets to either dominate or save the world, maybe? But for interiors, hidden attributes are extremely useful for micro spaces such as this one. (далее…)

How To Remove Pet Hair From Furniture, Floors and More

If you have cats or dogs (or both!), I hope for your sake you’ve got a leather sofa, because we all know that pet hair clings to stuff tighter than a squirrel with a nut in the dead of winter. Alas, leather furniture is expensive, so most of us are left on our hands and knees, with a roll of tape, going over every inch of each surface, and praying that — JUST THIS ONCE — we get it all. Here are a few tips and alternatives to preserve your sanity. (далее…)
